Meet Dr. Brockett
Dr Brockett grew up in Bainbridge, Georgia, a small town in the southwest corner of the state. He was an honor graduate from the University of Georgia. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry where he finished at the top of his class. After practicing general dentistry for one year, he attended the University of Miami School of Medicine. There he completed a four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and trained at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Brockett is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His professional memberships include the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Society of Dental Anesthesia, The International College of Oral Implantologists, and the Florida Dental Association. He was the founding president of the Citrus County Dental Society. For over 10 years he instructed health care professional in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He is on active staff at Citrus Memorial Hospital.
Married for 27 years, he and his wife Claudia have spent the last two decades building a family here in Citrus County. They have two daughters. Dr. Brockett feels a strong connection to our community and is pleased to support many civic organizations including the United Way and the new YMCA. He is a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church and enjoys participating in student activities and community outreach.
Dr. Brockett is an avid triathlete, having competed in over 100 events including the Hawaiian Ironman. He commutes to work by bicycle most days of the week.
In 2014, Dr. Brockett was named the Dental Healthcare Hero by the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce. This award for dental excellence is given annually to one provider. The winner is nominated by local residents and chosen by a panel of healthcare experts.
